Leaked Render Suggests Glyph Lights May Be Essential for the Launch of Nothing Phone 2a

Late last year, there were rumors of a purportedly “affordable” phone from Nothing called the Nothing Phone 2a. Nothing ultimately confirmed the existence of the device, but did not provide any key details. Since the initial leak, numerous images have flooded the internet, offering hints of what the device might look like. Now, a purported render has been revealed that showcases a “renewed” rear panel, thanks to leaks from OnLeaks and SmartPrix.

The leaked render features the back panel of the Phone 2a, revealing a radical redesign – ditching the Glyph Lightning interface that both the Nothing Phone 1 and Phone 2 are known for. This could be a big potential change, and it’s different from anything else we’ve seen so far.

The design is overall similar to the previous models, with a dual camera hidden in the top left corner. This differs from some of the other leaks we’ve seen so far, which featured a center-facing camera module. The images also don’t reveal whether the Phone 2a will have a translucent panel made of glass or some other material, but it has the classic transparent industrial look that Nothing is known for. Notably, it doesn’t have a visible wireless charging coil either.

It should be noted that this may be a pre-production unit and the design is not yet final. Therefore, it should be taken with a grain of salt. Akis Evangelidis, co-founder of Nothing, also posted the same on X. He sent the message “…” Now what does this mean? Only time will tell.

None Phone 2a Expected specifications

Reports have suggested that the Nothing Phone 2a will feature a dual camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KGN9 sensor with a 1/1.5-inch sensor size and 1.0 micron pixel size. The secondary ultra-wide-angle lens, on the other hand, can be a 50-megapixel Samsung S5KJN1 ultra-wide-angle unit with a 1/2.76-inch sensor size.

Additionally, it is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chip and feature an OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
